Jaclene founded Asia Wine Review to build what the Asian wine market has never had: a credible, independent critical institution of its own.
A Singapore-based wine communicator, brand strategist, and wine educator, Jaclene also brings a background in private equity and private banking. Before AWR, she also built a wine import business and an agency crafting brand narratives for wine brands in the Asian market. The combination of formal wine credentials, commercial acumen, and brand communications capability that is uncommon in the wine world and central to how this platform is conceived and built.
Jaclene holds a WSET Level 4 Diploma and currently teaches WSET programmes at The Beverage Clique Academy. She also serves as Head of Communications and PR for the Sommelier Association of Singapore, sits on the jury of the Tatler Dining Awards, and is a 2025 Golden Vines Wine Scholar Guild Scholar. She has written on wine for lifestyle publications across Asia, with a focus on bringing bridging the traditional wine industry to a broader and younger audience.
As AWR's Editor-in-Chief, she sets the editorial standard across every category and critic on the platform. As the Principal Critic, she crafts the blind methodology together with the Lead Founding Critics, while upholding the standard of tasting and the integrity of the platform.
