On Our Environment

20 September 2026

I'm currently in Mosel on a harvest trip, all while still waking up early morning to work before going heading the vineyard or the winery. My workload has not decreased because I work from overseas. But my overall state certainly did.

Each city and each wine region I travel to, I find myself being affected by the state of that area. Mosel is calm, Kuala Lumpur is warm and London is traditional.

It got me to think about what Eben Sadie shared, that his father told him not to write on corks. He cares about climate change deeply, and not just talk about it, but actually put into action what he believes in his vineyards. I'm not sure if he truly comprehend that, but it was likely his father who instilled this sense of care for his environment since he was young.

Our environment has more of an impact on us than we stop to think about. So perhaps today is the time to pause and scroll through your own calendar — "what kind of environment have I been putting myself in?"
