Adaptability

4 September 2026

No doubt everyone has talked your ears off about how early this year's harvest is.

While many people (understandably) questioned the quality of this vintage because of that, many winemakers that I spoke with seem rather nonchalant by it. Generally, the grapes are pretty healthy, they say.

Maybe as humans we are wired to resist change. In everything that is out of what we expect to be the status quo, the uncertainty is unsettling.

I do not see change as something to fight against. If anything, I believe strongly in the notion that the universe paves the way for me. Admittedly, I have a much higher tolerance for uncertainty.

Just like having the patience to wait a whole year to see how a vintage turns out, I believe the key is to also work hard for what you want while you work towards the results. Just like pruning and doing green harvesting diligently while having faith that these winemakers will make the best vintage yet.
