On Choosing Conviction and Faith

4 August 2026

Faith and worry both asks the same thing of us — to believe in something that has not yet happened.

As many of you running or building a business would know, conviction and the ability to believe in yourself and your team long before you can see any results is a challenging ask for most people. Yet, this is the one trait that entrepreneurs and founders share.

Featuring an importer as a cover story is not something I had imagined myself doing when I was conceiving the publication side of AWR. Yet, Artisan Cellars portfolio is one I have long admired, but it is also much more than that. I admire the unwavering spirit that Aman has in his team, the quiet confidence Moritz has in their producers and the dedication that shines through every single time I've attended their event.

It would have been easy to rest on their laurels and simply bring on more Burgundy producers, especially those that are extremely hyped these days. But if you have attended an Artisan Cellar event these past two years, you would have seen them championing producers that might not always be the easiest to sell in the market.

That is what I admire them for and why Artisan Cellars takes centre stage in our third issue. Not simply for their producers, but for the values that they share with our readers and us.
